According to the document, the parties agreed to collaborate across a broad range of disciplines of fundamental and applied research and work together to commercialize research output. Belarusian and Chinese specialists will develop cooperation in strategic planning, joint research and training of personnel in order to implement innovations in providing service platforms and technical support for the process of building smart electricity networks.
Belarusian and Chinese researchers intend to cooperate in the field of smart electricity networks, smart neighborhoods, smart farms, and smart cities. Today, the parties also agreed to exchange visits on the level of top officials and individual scientists, to publish jointly research findings, and to inform each other about national research projects.
Speaking about the importance of the document signed, Vladimir Gusakov suggested that Belarus and China team up to implement a smart home project. “We have already developed design documents on the construction of a smart home in Belarus. We could run this project together,” he noted. Besides that, Vladimir Gusakov invited Chinese partners to collaborate in the field of alternative energy, development of a supercapacitor, water purification systems, LED equipment, etc.
As Chairman of the Board of China Energy Engineering Corporation Limited Wang Jianping underlined during negotiations, the Chinese partner is particularly interested in cooperation in the field of power engineering. “Connection of science and economy gives a powerful impetus to the development of the society. And we are especially happy that the NAS of Belarus is also involved in the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative,” he added.
