On 24 January 2019, a press conference on priority areas for developing scientific research in 2019 took place in the Press Center of the Press House. The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus was represented by Academician Alexander Kilchevsky, Chief Scientific Secretary of the NASB Presidium.

As Alexander Kilchevsky told, the NAS of Belarus, based on existing developments, plans to continue in 2019 the development of research and innovation work in the most world important areas: IT-sphere, space research, biotechnologies, nanotechnologies, pharmaceutical technologies corresponding to the V-VI technological structure, new materials with a set of useful properties, agricultural technologies of a new generation, the humanitarian sphere and a number of others.
