Currently, the republican action “Belarus Remembers. Everyone Remembered” dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War is held throughout the country. Among those who joined the action are Academician Vladimir Gusakov, the Chairman of the Presidium of the NASB, Sergey Chyzhik, the First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the NASB, Academician Sergey Kilin, the Deputy Chairman of the Presidium, Corresponding Fellow Petr Kazakevich, the Deputy Chairman of the Presidium, Andrey Ivanets, the Main Academic Secretary of the NASB, the Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists, Academician Petr Vitiaz, the Chief of the Management of the NASB, Corresponding Fellow Alexander Kovalenya, the Academician Secretary of the Department of Humanitarian Scientists and Arts.
They laid flower tributes to an obelisk on the 9th km of Moscow road in Uručča. The monument was built in honour of 30 thousand war prisoners, Soviet soldiers, guerillas and non-combatants shot dead in 1941-1943. The memorial stone bears the names of dozens of soldiers who died near Uručča. Scientists from the Institute of History of the NASB directly participated in acquisition of information on the fallen heroes.
