On the 30th of June, 2020, the NAS of Belarus held Round Table “Promotion of economic growth of the Republic of Belarus against new challenges and threats” dedicated to the Day of Economist (the 30th of June). The NASB organized this event which involved representatives of leading NASB scientific and research organizations and establishments engaged in economic activities, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus, and the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus.

The main purpose of the Round Table was to determine opportunities, sources and ways to ensure economic growth of the Republic of Belarus against the current challenges and threats, including the consequences of COVID-19 pandemic.

Vladimir Gusakov, the Chairman of the NASB Presidium, told the journalists: “The Academy of Sciences always actively participates in development of a full range of mechanisms, measures, approaches and methods of economy development. The Institute of Economy established Belarusian Economic School – a large cluster intended for engagement of all scientific economists of the country in discussions of problems, work out of propositions and their submission to the government, the Ministry of Economy and other bodies to take decisions”.
