Meeting of Republican Interagency Work Group for Coping with COVID-19 Takes Place

On the 9th of July, 2020, the Republican interagency work group for coping with COVID-19 held a meeting involving leading scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of the NASB, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education. The participants discussed the issues related to COVID-19 in co-morbid patients (the speaker: Natalia Mitkovskaya, the Head of the Cardiology and Internal Diseases of Educational Institution Belarusian State Medical University), developments on coping with COVID-19 made by the Institute of Physiology of the NASB (the speaker: Sergey Gubkin, the Director of the State Scientific Institution Institute of Physiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus), and rationality of antibiotic treatment of COVID-19 associated pneumonia (the speaker: Dmitry Ruzanov, the Vice-rector for medical work of the Educational Institution Gomel State Medical University).

During the meeting, the group discussed such issues as management of patients with concomitant diseases on the background of COVID-19, creation of register of patients having COVID-19, special features of domestic vaccine development and role of respiratory microbiome in above-mentioned disease course.

According to the meeting results, the group planned publication of the speeches in leading scientific journals of the National Academy of Science of Belarus.
