On March 4, 2021 the press conference “The scientific support of the industrial sector the Republic of Belarus” was held at the Press Center of the House of Press. Petr Vityaz, the Head of Staff of the NAS of Belarus, academician of the NAS of Belarus, and Vitali Zaleski, the Director of the State Scientific Institution “Physical-Technical Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus”. They spoke in detail about the priority areas of scientific research of academic scientists, about the relationship between science and production.

As Petr Vityaz emphasized today academic science works in the closest contact with the country’s industrial enterprises and actively responds to economic problems. The vertical link between science – education – industry has made Belarusian products even more competitive and in demand on the world market in recent years. He gave an example: if not long ago, mining dump trucks had a resource of 300 thousand kilometers before major repairs, today the resource exceeds a million. This became possible thanks to the creation of new alloys, which greatly increased the resource of components and assemblies. There are many unique developments in the country, and it is especially important to promote them in the markets. Vitali Zaleski, in turn, gave an example of how space technologies literally stand guard over human health. In private, the protective coating technology that was developed for spacecraft has also come to be used in the manufacture of artificial heart valves. And the Belarusian equipment por plasma carburizing has no analogues in the world at all.
