On March 25, 2021, the NAS of Belarus and the National Press Center of the Republic Belarus held an off-site press event “Joint developments of Belarusian and Russian scientists in the creation and application of the Earth remote sensing systems” (the Union Program “Integration-US”).

The director of the UE “Geoinformation systems” of the NAS of Belarus Syargey Zalatoy and the head of the laboratory of the UE “Geoinformation systems” Syargey Pisareusky addressed the representatives of the republican and Union media. Seven programs of the Union State in the space sphere have already been implemented, now the eighth is being carried out - “Integration-US”. Today, the problem of using space data and the development of uniform rules has become argent in the world. “Integration-US” envisages the development of common standards for Belarus and Russia on the use of space information, which will be harmonized with international ones, he said and added. – The implementation of the program began last year. The Belarusian side has already developed one standard. In February, it was approved by the State Standard and put into effect on the territory of Belarus. Another standard was developed by Russia. Now we are approving the list of standards with “Roscosmos” that will be developed this year”.

Scientists told reporters about the development of a new Russian-Belarusian satellite, which has already begun. Syargey Zalatoy noted: “The exclusive project has been prepared. In the process of working on it, the possibilities of implementing technical solutions were checked, the technical characteristics of the device were clarified. The development of design documentation is now underway”. The operating Belarusian spacecraft for remote sensing of the Earth has a separation of 2 meters. The new satellite will have a separation capacity of 0.35 meters, which means that the level of detail will be much higher. The target equipment will be developed by the Belarusian “Peleng”, and the platform itself, the launch support, will be taken over by Russia. About a third part, both in terms of volume and finances, is Belarusian, two-thirds are Russian”, Syargey Zalatoy informed.
