On May 6, 2021, from 10.00 to 12.00 a.m. at the Belarusian State Museum of the history of the Great Patriotic War, the results of the XIV International youth scientific and practical conference “The Great Patriotic War of 1941 – 1 945 in the historical memory on that people” will be summed up and the winners will be awarded. The event will be attended by representatives of the Academy of Sciences, the Ministry of Education, the Education Committee of the Minsk City Executive Committee, teachers of higher educational institutions, teachers of the history of schools and gymnasiums of the Republic of Belarus.

For 14 years in a row, the state educational institution “Gymnasium № 174 of Minsk” has been holding the International youth scientific and practical conference “The Great Patriotic War of 1941 – 1 945 in the historical memory on that people” with the support of the Departments of the Humanities and Arts of the NAS of Belarus, the Institute of History of the NAS of Belarus, the Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after Maxim Tank. In 2021, the organizers of the XIV conference activity supported by the Belarusian State Museum of the history of the Great Patriotic War, the Education Committee of the Minsk City Executive Committee, the Minsk City Institute of Education Development, “The Russkiy Mir” foundation, the Education Department of the Moscow District Administration of Minsk. For participation in the conference, 485 works of students from all regions of Belarus, as well as Russia, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine were received. All works were distributed by the organizing committee into six sections:
- “Military operations on the fronts of the Second World War and the Great Patriotic War”;
- “Anti-fascist resistance in the occupied territories, partisan movement and underground struggle”;
- “Occupation regime, genocidal politics and collaboration”;
- “Liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders. Operation «Bagration»”;
- “The Great Patriotic War in the history of my family”;
- “Morally and spiritually meaning of Victory, historical results and lessons of the Great Patriotic War”;
- “Memorialization of the feat of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War”.

The largest number of works (more than 170) was submitted to the section “The Great Patriotic War in the history of my family”, which convincingly testifies to the careful attitude to the memory of the feats of arms of the defenders of the Fatherland.
