A regular meeting on the Republican interagency working group on overcoming COVID-19 on the topic “Assessment of post-vaccination immunity to the SARS-CoV-2 virus” was held at the NAS of Belarus under the leadership of the Chairman of the Presidium of the NASB, Academician, Vladimir Gusakov. Leading scientists of the Academy of Sciences, the Ministry of Health and institutions of higher education of medical, biological and chemical profiles took part in the work.

The main presentation was made by Leonid Titov, Corresponding member of the NAS of Belarus, a foreign member of the RAS, doctor of medical sciences, professor, head of the laboratory of the RSPC for epidemiology and microbiology, and Tamara Amvrosyeva, doctor of medical sciences, professor, head of the laboratory of the RSPC for epidemiology and microbiology.

Scientists noted the pecularities of the functioning of the immune system in patients with influenza, COVID-19 and vaccinated people, and also discussed the first results of vaccination against COVID-19 in the Republic of Belarus. The participants of the meeting confirmed the clinical significance of post-vaccination indicators of cellular and humoral immunity in vaccinated persons, highlighted their features when using vaccines from different manufacturers.

It was decided to publish the collection of reports “Coronavirus Infection 2021: Fundamental, Clinical and Epidemiological Aspect” following the results of the meeting of the Interdepartmental Group.

The Republican interdepartmental working group on overcoming COVID-19 was created by the Decree of the Bureau of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus dated May 18, 2020 № 223. It included more than 30 specialists who represent Academic and University of science: leading scientists all the NAS of Belarus, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, medical practitioners of organizations are the country’s health protection system. The goal of the Intradepartmental group is to organize and coordinate the work of scientists and medical workers throughout the country on the practical implementation of a set of measures to overcome the coronavirus.
