At the NAS of Belarus, under the leadership of the Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov, a regular meeting of the Republican interagency working group on overcoming COVID-19 was held, the participants of which discussed modern aspects of the clinical manifestation of infection and the peculiarities of the formation of specific immunity.
More than 40 leading scientists of the Academy of Sciences, the Ministry of Health and institutions of higher education of medical, biological and chemical profiles took part in the work. Igor Karpov, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of the Belarusian State Medical University and Andrey Goncharov, made the main reports. Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor, Director of the State Scientific Institution “Institute of Biophysics and Cell Engineering of the NAS of Belarus”.
Scientists noted the features of the new variants of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, causing concern in the world, modern recommendations for the treatment of severe forms of the disease and minimization of complications. Experts discussed the results of studies of specific cellular immunity in patients who have undergone COVID-19 and those vaccinated against a new coronavirus infection. The participants in the meeting confirmed the importance of operational data on the spread of new forms of coronavirus for the timely diagnosis and treatment of clinical manifestations of the disease, highlighted the features of the formation of post-infectious and post-vaccination cellular immunity.
A collection of reports is being prepared based on the results of the meetings of the Interdepartmental Group “Coronavirus Infection 2021: Fundamental, Clinical and Epidemiological Aspect” for the publication of materials.
