The purpose of the festival, the main organizer of which was the Council of Young Scientists of the Academy, is to increase the prestige of science in society, popularize the achievements of engage in research activities.

At the exhibition of the best developments of scientists of the NASB, guests got acquainted with a variety of exhibits, ranging from excavated artifacts and rare insects to drones and the latest developments in electric transport. Anybody could try conducting an independent experiment on masterclass sites; the masterclasses were given by microbiologists, sociologists, botanists, physicists and geneticists. At the Science Festival – 2021, 4 thematic lecture platforms were launched at once.

As Vladumir Gusakov, Chairman of the NASB Presidium, noted, the Science Festival in the Central Botanical Garden allows you to demonstrate the achievements of scientists in an intelligible form. “This is a traditional festival, our iconic brand event. Various scientific fields, developments of the National Academy of Sciences and universities are presented here, there are also foreign guests. Both children and adults are interested in the festival. Visitors of all ages can get acquainted with the achievements of scientists, find out how scientific research is done and experiments are made. There are a lot of new, original and unusual things, and we try not to repeat ourselves”, said Vladumir Gusakov. “We are setting a task to show to the visitors in an available form what science is, to tell about its development, achievements, outline the prospects, and to show the direction we should follow. Space exploration, informatics, mechanical engineering, nanotechnology, medical, agricultural and biotechnologies, history – attention is paid to everything”, said Vladumir Gusakov, Chairman of the NASB Presidium.

In his turn, the Chief Academic Secretary, Chairperson of the Council of Young Scientists of the NASB, Andrei Ivanets, noticed: “Today, not only the Academy of Sciences, but almost all of the country's largest universities are represented here. Our colleagues from MSU and state corporation “Rosatom” have also arrived here. Big interest has been shown by visitors and participants.”
Photo zones and interactive playgrounds for children functioned at the festival. The Science Festival was held for the third time.
