On December 1, 2021, during the "Shandong - Vitebsk Region Week of Friendly Cooperation", the ceremony of signing an Agreement between the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Academy of Sciences of Shandong Province (PRC) on the joint creation of the Belarusian Research Center of the Academy of Sciences of Shandong Province took place.
The ceremony was attended by the First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the NASB Sergei Chizhik, from the Academy of Sciences of Shandong Province - President of the Academy of Sciences of Shandong Province Wang Yinglong. This Agreement was initialed the day before by the Chairman of the Presidium of the NASB Vladimir Gusakov and the President of the Academy of Sciences of Shandong Province Wang Yinglong.
The Belarusian Research Center of the Academy of Sciences of Shandong Province is planned to be created in the building of the Innovation Center in the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park "Great Stone". The Center will select and evaluate joint research and development projects prepared by the organizations of the parties, ensure in-depth research and development in the field of science and technology, as well as transfer scientific and technical achievements in the manner prescribed by the legislation of the Republic of Belarus. Within the framework of the Center's activities, Belarusian and Chinese scientists plan to jointly carry out research and development work, act as an incubator for scientific and technical projects and training scientific personnel. The parties are convinced that the establishment of the Center will allow them to carry out systematic scientific and technical cooperation and exchange of scientific and technical achievements for their subsequent modification and transfer. The agreement implies cooperation in such areas as: automation, mechanical engineering, mathematics, materials science, biology, ecology, energy, chemistry and other natural sciences, humanities, as well as the management of science and technology. Laser physics, artificial intelligence and other strategic innovation areas are identified as key areas for support.
