The delegation of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus took part in the first Business Forum of the Eurasian Economic Union "Space Integration"

The delegation of the NASB took part in the first Business Forum of the Eurasian Economic Union "Space Integration", which took place on December 3 in Moscow.

The Chairman of the Presidium of the NASB, Head of the Space Research Agency Academician Vladimir Gusakov spoke at the forum. According to the head of the delegation of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, “The space sector has been identified as one of the priority areas of innovative development in Belarus, it involves broad integration of Belarusian scientific organizations and industrial enterprises of the space industry within the framework of international scientific and technical projects with the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union. This is confirmed by the participation of our country in the EAEU interstate program for the integration of existing and prospective national sources of Earth remote sensing data and the readiness for its practical implementation starting from 2022. One of the key projects of the program is the creation, in cooperation of Russian and Belarusian enterprises, of a Russian-Belarusian space system for remote sensing of the Earth on the basis of two promising ultra-high resolution spacecraft of 0.35 m, ensuring the launch of the first of them in 2025 and the formation of a production backlog for the manufacture of the second. The preliminary design of the system was carried out with funding from the Roscosmos State Corporation and was completed in 2020, "Vladimir Gusakov emphasized.

The Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus noted that the Interstate Program is the first global cooperation project of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, an example of integration cooperation between member states in the field of industrial and commercial space technologies. At the end of his speech, Vladimir Gusakov expressed the hope that the participating States, with the coordinating role of the Eurasian Economic Commission, will take all the necessary measures to ensure its implementation in a timely manner.

And today on the sidelines of the first EAEU Business Forum "Space Integration", held in Moscow, a working meeting of the Chairman of the Presidium of the NASB Vladimir Gusakov with the General Director of the State Corporation "Roscosmos" Dmitry Rogozin took place. The meeting was devoted to topical issues of the development of Belarusian-Russian cooperation in the exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes. During the meeting, issues related to the implementation of joint projects in the field of remote sensing of the Earth, interaction in the field of manned astronautics, the formation and implementation of scientific and technical programs of the Union State on space issues were discussed. In particular, the parties exchanged information on measures taken to implement a joint project to create a Russian-Belarusian spacecraft for remote sensing of the Earth with an ultra-high spatial resolution of 0.35 m (RBKA) and a Russian-Belarusian space system based on it. RBKA is being created within the framework of the EAEU Interstate Program for the Integration of National Sources of Earth Remote Sensing Data on the Basis of Operating and Prospective Spacecraft of the EAEU Member States. Next week, the NAS of Belarus is scheduled to hold a regular meeting of the joint Russian-Belarusian working group on the content of promising programs of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, as well as the development of cooperation between organizations of the NAS of Belarus and the State Corporation Roscosmos.
