On February 11, the primary organizations of the NGO «Belarusian Union of Women» of the Council of the Republic and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus organized a round table «Modern woman: education, profession, career», dedicated to the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, established by the resolution of the UN General Assembly on December 22, 2015 .

The participants discussed issues of the gender imbalance in the labor sphere of Belarus, gender socialization and peculiarities of choosing a profession, the age and gender specificity of the STEM education for schoolchildren, the professional experience of women scientists based on their personal stories.
