Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Sergei Kilin was awarded the CIS Prize «Stars of the Commonwealth»

Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Academician Sergei Kilin was awarded the CIS Prize «Stars of the Commonwealth». This was reported in the Interstate Fund for the Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS member states.

The interstate award council has announced the winners of the main CIS humanitarian award for 2021. The award is annually awarded to the representatives of the Commonwealth states for the most significant achievements in the field of the humanitarian activity, corresponding to the level of the world achievements and contributing to the development of the CIS member countries and the Commonwealth as a whole. By decision of the jury, which included the prominent figures of culture and education from all CIS countries, the prizes were awarded to eight applicants. Together with Sergey Kilin, People’s Artist of Azerbaijan Natik Kamal oglu Aliyev, Armenian geologist Eduard Khachiyan, Kazakh architect Serik Rustambekov, neurosurgeon from Kyrgyzstan Mitalip Mamytov, Russian conductor, artistic director of the St. Petersburg Academic Philharmonic Yuri Temirkanov, Tajik mathematician Mirgand Shabozov and director of the State Academic Bolshoi Theater of Uzbekistan Ramiz Usmanov.

The amount of the award is 2 million Russian rubles. This year, 12 nominees from 8 countries competed for the high award.
It is planned that the solemn ceremony of awarding the laureates will be held in Tashkent in December at the Forum of Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia of the CIS.
