On October 6-7, 2022, the III Belarusian Biochemical Congress «Modern problems of biochemistry and molecular biology» was held at the Institute of Biochemistry of Biologically Active Compounds of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (Grodno).

The main goal of the scientific event is to assess the current state of the research in the field of biochemistry and molecular biology in the country, analyze the results achieved and their use in practice, determine the directions for the further development of these sciences, taking into account world experience and the needs of the Belarusian economy, and expand an international cooperation in the various fields of biochemistry, discussion and development of the new joint programs and projects.

With a welcoming speech at the Congress, the director of the Institute, Ph.D., Assoc. Kuznetsov O.E., Academician-Secretary of the Department of Medical Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Bogdan V.G., First Vice-Rector of the Grodno Medical University, Ph.D., Associate Professor Vorobyov V.V., Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Doctor of Biological Sciences, prof. Moiseenok A.G. «On the work of the public association, ongoing events, published works, achievements».

A total of 129 researchers participated in the conference (including online participation). The conference was attended by the representatives of scientific organizations, higher educational institutions (UO «GrSMU», UO «Ya. Kupala GrSU», UO «BSMU», UO «Polesye State University», UO «BelMAPO», State Scientific Institution «Institute of Radiobiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus» , State Institution «Republican Research and Practical Center for Radiation Medicine and Human Ecology», Educational Establishment «VSU»), healthcare institutions of the Republic, the National Anti-Doping Laboratory of Belarus, manufacturers of medicines, equipment, representatives of the sectors of the national economy of the Republic (OJSC «Molochny Mir», holding «Brestmyasmolprom», RUE Belmedpreparaty, Pharmland, Tosilena, Algimed Techno). The publication of the first issue of the peer-reviewed scientific and practical journal «Biochemistry and Molecular Biology» was timed to the work of the Congress.
