On October 14, 2022, on the basis of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, under the leadership of the Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Natalia Kochanova, an off-site meeting of the Council of the Expert Advisory Council under the Presidium of the Council of the Republic «On Current Problems in the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry of the Republic of Belarus» was held, in which representatives of the Academy organizations took part Sciences.

The Chairman of the Council of the Republic stressed that the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus was chosen for the event not by chance, because «the role of scientists in solving these issues is great. And the prospects for the development of the pharmaceutical industry in our country depend on how our scientists work».

As Natalya Kochanova noted, «In our country, for the current five-year period, the pharmaceutical industry has been identified as one of the breakthrough points of industrial growth. Industrial production of medicines in Belarus is carried out by 40 pharmaceutical enterprises, 11 thousand people are employed in the industry. Annually, production volumes are growing, production of new types of medicines», said Natalia Kochanova.

At the meeting, the need to ensure the drug safety of the country was discussed, prices on the Belarusian medicinal market were discussed. The participants of the offsite meeting visited the exhibition of the IT Academy «Artificial Intelligence in Belarus». At the end of the event the best staff of the pharmaceutical industry was granted the special price of the Chairman of the Council of the Republic for their fruitful work, successful and exemplary performance of official duties.
