On October 26, 2022, a meeting of the Republican Council on Historical Policy under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus was held at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

The participants of the event considered the issues of the historical education at all levels, as well as teaching in a new discipline – the History of the Belarusian statehood. The issues of museology, preservation of monuments, memorials and a number of other aspects related to research activities, the work of the Institute of History as the leading scientific institution in the system of the National Academy of Sciences, the work of university faculties, dissertation and university research were also considered.

As Igor Sergeenko, head of the Presidential Administration, noted: «The Council on Historical Policy has been functioning almost since the beginning of the year. Let me remind you that a corresponding order was adopted by the Head of state – the Council on Historical Policy was created under the Presidential Administration. It actually functions on the basis of the National Academy of Sciences». Several commissions have been formed within the Council for areas of activity. The Republican Council for Historical Policy under the Administration of the President of Belarus works on a permanent basis.
