Vasily Gursky holds a press briefing on the topic: «Features of the Belarusian model of socio-economic development: priorities and projected growth points»

On November 3, 2022, the National Press Center of the Republic of Belarus hosted a press briefing by the Chief Scientific Secretary of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Doctor of Economics Vasily Gursky on the topic: «Features of the Belarusian model of socio-economic development: priorities and projected growth points».

Vasily Gursky spoke about what should be the model of socio-economic development in the modern world, how to develop the economy in the face of sanctions pressure and what industries are the most promising in his opinion.

As Vasily Gursky noted at the press briefing, the state-regulated economy is the most stable in the conditions of global turbulence. According to Vasily Gursky, there is now a serious increase in conflict in international economic relations in the global economy. «There is a confrontation between the world centers of power and many economic ties are being severed. This naturally creates new challenges and threats for any socio-economic system. The state-regulated economy turns out to be much more adapted and stable in the conditions of such global turbulence. Our state guarantees social benefits for the population, actively supports its own producer, stimulates export and import substitution. This serves as a basis for the economy to adapt faster to the changes that are currently taking place in other countries», he explained.
