On November 8, 2022, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov visited the pilot production workshop of OAO «BelVitunifarm», where the Belarusian coronavirus vaccine will be produced. The workshop already has all the necessary equipment and is ready to release the first experimental batch.

As Vladimir Gusakov, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, told reporters during meeting at the enterprise in the Vitebsk rayon: «The enterprise is ready to produce our Belarusian vaccine against covid, and after receiving it we will conduct its clinical trials with volunteers. It has already passed preclinical tests and has shown high efficiency. Other vaccination preparations for both children and adults will also be produced here». He also noted that if the epidemiological situation changes, they will be able to quickly adapt the composition of vaccines to new strains.

The new workshop was also visited by the chairman of the regional executive committee Alexander Subbotin, the Minister of Health Dmitry Pinevich, to whom the specialists of the enterprise showed what equipment has already been installed here and told when the construction of the vaccine production workshop will begin.
