On November 11, 2022, the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus hosted a presentation of the educational and methodological complex «The Great Patriotic War of the Soviet People (in the context of World War II)» for institutions of general secondary education with the Russian (Belarusian) language of instruction. The head of the author's team is Academician-Secretary of the Department of Humanities and Arts of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Academician Alexander Kovalenya.

The presentation was attended by leading historians of the country, representatives of educational development institutes, history teachers, including heads of educational and methodological associations. Event organizers: Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, scientific and methodological institution «The National Institute of Education» of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus.

From September 1, 2022/2023 academic year, 9th grade students study the training module «The Great Patriotic War». One of the components of the module is the curriculum of the optional lesson «The Great Patriotic War of the Soviet People (in the context of World War II)». To implement the program, a same-named educational and methodological complex has been developed, including a textbook, an educational and methodological manual, a reading book and an atlas.

As part of the presentation of the educational and methodological complex, they told about the history of the creation of the complex, about approaches to its use in the educational process that will help form the value-target orientations of students.
