Based on the results of the competition held in the departments of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Bureau of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus decided to approve the list of winners of the competition Top-10 activities results of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus scientists in the field of fundamental and applied research by the end of 2022.
The winners are:
1. Novitsky Denis Viktorovich, Head of the Nanophotonics Center of the Institute of Physics named after B.I. Stepanov of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Candidate of Physics and Mathematics, — for developing the theory of resonance excitation in asymmetric active photonic structures and its application to various types of metamaterials.
2. Kernasovsky Yuri Mikhailovich, Director of the Minsk Research Institute of Radiomaterials, Mospanov Alexey Nikolaevich, Head of the systems development sector, Chief designer of the design department of the Minsk Research Institute of Radiomaterials – for the development of a system of magnetic probe control of defects in rolled steel.
3. The team of authors of the Institute of Heat and Mass Transfer named after A.V. Lykov of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus — for the development of a prototype propulsion system combining deflagration combustion and continuous rotating detonation for supersonic aircraft.
4. Khripach Vladimir Aleksandrovich, Head of the laboratory of the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Academician, Doctor of Chemistry, Professor, Zhabinsky Vladimir Nikolaevich, Chief Researcher of the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Corresponding Member, Doctor of Chemistry, Associate Professor, — for the development of highly effective antitoxic antitumor drugs of a new generation based on natural steroids.
5. The team of authors of the Institute of Microbiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, – for the creation of a highly active genetically engineered strain to produce a new generation of vaccines with potentially enhanced immunogenicity.
6. Pashkevich Svetlana Georgievna, Head of the laboratory of the Institute of Physiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Candidate of Biology, Associate Professor, — for substantiating the effectiveness of extracellular vesicles of mesenchymal stem cells for the restoration of nervous tissue.
7. The team of authors of the Center for the Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature Researches of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus — for revealing the theme of the Great Patriotic War in various genres of composer creativity.
8. Scientists of the Institute of Land Reclamation — for the development of a complex of the latest technologies and technical means of preserving and maintaining the operability of closed reclamation systems.
The competition Top-10 activities results of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus scientists in the field of fundamental and applied research is held annually in order to reward the most outstanding achievements in the field of fundamental and applied scientific research that are important for the development of established scientific schools or the formation of areas of science related to the implementation of priorities of socio-economic development of the Republic of Belarus, development of new technological processes, high-tech, competitive products, and it is aimed at stimulating the competitiveness and creative activity of scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
