On January 10, 2023, an off-site press event took place at the premises of the Scientific and Practical Center on Food on the topic Innovative Technologies and Food Products. New Developments of Scientists of the Scientific and Practical Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus on Food.
The event was attended by representatives of 15 different mass media of Belarus and Russia. The scientists of the Center demonstrated new developments and products of the enterprise, touched upon the topic of import substitution and features of quality control and food safety. Alexey Meleschenya, Director General of the Scientific and Practical Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus on Food, said that the Center interacts with more than 200 enterprises of various industries of the country and produces about 100 new recipes per year. The Center pays great attention to the development of healthy food products and products for people with various diseases, for example, for children with phenylketonuria. Director of the Institute of Meat and Dairy Industry Gordey Gusakov shared with correspondents information about new developments of scientists of the Institute. Natalia Komarova, Head of the Republican Control and Testing Complex for Food Quality and Safety, spoke about the work of the complex's laboratories, which includes testing and ensuring product quality control. In the department of confectionery and fat-and-oil products technology, healthy products were demonstrated, including linseed cake cookies. At the end of the event, the guests tasted the products that have been developed by the Center's specialists in recent years.
