On February 3, 2023, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus V.G. Gusakov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to the Republic of Belarus Mustafa Özcan.

During the visit, the permanent exhibition of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Achievements of the National Science for Production was visited, where the Turkish side was presented the latest developments of the organizations of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. During the negotiations, the process of creating a joint Belarusian-Turkish research center on the basis of the Institute of Philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus was discussed, the main tasks of which are to coordinate and conduct joint research work, individual projects in the field of historical, cultural and philosophical heritage of Belarus and Turkey; to improve the qualifications of scientific personnel by studying the Turkish language; to translate the works by Turkish and Belarusian writers and scientists into Belarusian and Turkish. The Center is scheduled to open in the first half of 2023. The parties also discussed the possibility of signing a new Roadmap of Cooperation between the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBITAK) for the next period.
