From February 20 to 27, 2023, the Yakub Kolas Institute of Linguistics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus is holding a Mother Tongue Week. It is timed to coincide with the celebration of the International Mother Tongue Day, which is celebrated on February 21.

A number of events will be held throughout the week. These are lectures, round tables, presentations, quizzes, interactive classes, meetings, cultural and educational and entertainment events. All of them are devoted to the problem of preservation, development and popularization of the Belarusian language.
