Plenary session of the Congress of Young Scientists of Belarus and Russia to be held on March 29

From March 27 to April 1, 2023, a Congress of Young Scientists of Belarus and Russia will be held at the premises of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, dedicated to the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia. The decision to hold the Congress was made by the Heads of State of Belarus and Russia in December 2022.

On March 29, 2023 (Wednesday) at 10.00 in the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (66 Niezaliežnasci Ave., Large Conference Hall), the grand opening and Plenary session of the Congress will be held on the topic: Young Scientists: Tasks and Areas of Cooperation for the Creation of a Single Scientific and Technological Space of Belarus and Russia.

It is planned that the event will be attended by: Dmitry F. Mezentsev, State Secretary of the Union State; Mikhail V. Kovalchuk, President of the Kurchatov Institute; Valery N. Falkov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation; Vladimir G. Gusakov, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus; Andrey I. Ivanets, Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus; Vladislav Y. Panchenko, Vice President of the Russian Academy of Sciences; Nikita V. Marchenkov, Chairman of the Coordinating Council for Youth Affairs in the Scientific and Educational Spheres under the Council under the President of the Russian Federation on Science and Education and other heads of scientific organizations in Russia and Belarus.

The Congress of Young Scientists of Belarus and Russia will be attended by about 500 young researchers of scientific organizations, higher educational institutions of Belarus and Russia. From the Russian Federation – representatives of the Kurchatov Institute; the Russian Academy of Sciences: the St. Petersburg Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences: Karelian Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Mechanical Engineering Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Saratov Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, etc.

The Congress program includes a plenary session on the topic: Young Scientists: Tasks and Areas of Cooperation for the Creation of a Single Scientific and Technological Space of Belarus and Russia, at which reports on priority areas of development of international scientific and technical cooperation of young scientists of the two countries will be heard. On March 28, 2023, sectional meetings will be held in the organizations of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

Within the framework of the Congress, on March 29, 2023, at 14.30, the grand opening of the branch of the Kurchatov Institute will take place at the premises of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (Minsk, Akademika V.F. Kupreviča str., 10). The latest developments of scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus will be presented at the permanent exhibition of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Achievements of National Science for Production (1st floor). The Congress participants will visit a number of research organizations of the Academy of Sciences. As part of the cultural program, young scientists of Russia will get acquainted with the historical and cultural heritage of Belarus.
