On November 23, 2023, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Belarus Alireza Sanei visited the NAS of Belarus. The Ambassador got acquainted with the developments of the organizations of the NAS of Belarus at the permanent exhibition of the NAS of Belarus Achievements of National Science for Production.

After visiting the exhibition, a meeting was held with the Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Vladimir G. Gusakov, which was attended by academic secretaries of the Departments of Sciences of the NAS of Belarus. The parties discussed the current level of development of the scientific and technical sphere of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Belarus. As a result of the negotiations, further steps were determined to intensify the Belarus-Iran scientific and technical cooperation, and a range of potential partners from the Iranian side was outlined to promote cooperation with the organizations of the NAS of Belarus. The priority areas of cooperation for the near future are: space research, medicines, agro-industrial complex, biotechnology, mechanical engineering, electric transport, petrochemistry, etc.
