On December 12, the NAS of Belarus held videoconference talks between the leadership of the NAS of Belarus, headed by Deputy Chairman of the Presidium Alexander Kilchevsky, and the delegation of Venezuela, headed by Deputy Minister for Application of Scientific Knowledge of the Ministry of Popular Power for Science and Technology Alberto Quintero.

Representatives of the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in the Republic of Belarus, headed by Envoy-Advisor Henri Moyetones, arrived in the NAS of Belarus to participate in the videoconference.

During the negotiations, the participants made presentations of the research and innovation potential of scientific organizations in Belarus and Venezuela. The following areas of cooperation were identified as priorities for the development of bilateral cooperation: bio- and nanotechnology, new materials, petrochemistry, green technologies, food industry, etc. Agreements were reached on the preparation and signing of an Agreement on cooperation in the field of science and technology, exploring the possibility of organizing a competition for joint research projects, as well as on the exchange of scientists’ delegations to identify specific areas of bilateral cooperation.
