On May 22, 2024, the NAS of Belarus hosted the presentation of the first volume of the Anthology of the National Choral Heritage of Belarus, prepared by the staff of the Department of Musical and Performing Arts of the Centre for the Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature Researches. The anthology of the national choral heritage is being published for the first time. Its content will contribute to the systematic filling of "blank pages" in the history of Belarusian music. The event was attended by the heads of the NAS of Belarus, reputable scientists, as well as representatives of the Belarusian Union of Composers, the Belarusian Union of Musical Figures, the Belaruskaya Navuka Publishing House, educational and cultural institutions.

During the presentation, the music chapel of the Centre performed works included in the first volume of the Anthology of the National Choral Heritage of Belarus.

The first volume of the Anthology of the National Choral Heritage of Belarus is the result of a major scientific research work in the field of the history of Belarusian musical culture, the purpose of which is to comprehend and present the masterpieces of the national choral heritage, which have not yet received proper scientific understanding and public attention. The first book of the first volume of the Anthology will be presented, which contains scientific commentaries and works by modern Belarusian composers created in line with the understanding of the national musical heritage. Most of the scores are manuscripts published for the first time. The concept of the edition involves the placement of materials in electronic format on a specially designed website.

The concept of the edition involves the use of special digital technologies, an extraordinary approach to the dissemination of Belarusian choral music in the world of cultural space based on creating conditions for the introduction of previously unknown works from the treasury of Belarusian musical culture into concert performance practice.

The presentation of the first volume of the Anthology of the National Choral Heritage of Belarus took place within the framework of the Belarusian Culture and Arts Week, which is held from May 20 to 24, 2024 by the Kandrat Krapiva Institute of Art History, Ethnography and Folklore of the Centre for the Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature Researches of the NAS of Belarus.
