On May 30, 2024, a joint meeting of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus and the Board of the State Committee on Science and Technology was held.

Two issues were considered: the results of the implementation of the Program for Improving the Scientific Sphere of the Republic of Belarus in 2023, as well as the state and prospects of science development in the Republic of Belarus and an analysis of the activities of the NAS of Belarus. Vasily Gursky, Chief Scientific Secretary of the NAS of Belarus, and Tatyana Stolyarova, Deputy Chairman of the SCST, made keynote speeches on these issues. The organization of scientific, technical and innovative activities, accreditation of scientific organizations, scientific support for the development of high-tech sectors of the economy, involvement of young people in scientific activities, popularization of scientific knowledge, etc. are considered in detail. There was also talk about improving legislation in the scientific and technical field.
