On May 31 – June 4, 2024, a delegation of the NAS of Belarus headed by Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov visited Mongolia.

Vladimir Gusakov and Chief Scientific Secretary of the NAS of Belarus Vasily Gursky took part in negotiations with the Minister of Education and Science of Mongolia L. Enkh-Amgalan. At the meeting with the leadership of the Ministry, steps were discussed to implement the Agreement on Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the NAS of Belarus and the Ministry, signed on June 3 in the presence of the Heads of State. The objectives of the Agreement are to strengthen the scientific and technical potentials of the two countries, develop and expand relations between Belarus and Mongolia, promote scientific cooperation and practical implementation of joint scientific developments in areas of mutual interest.

Members of the delegation of the NAS of Belarus visited the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, where they met with the President of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, Academician Duger Regdel. The draft Roadmap for the development of cooperation between the NAS of Belarus and the Mongolian AS for 2024–2026 was considered, issues were discussed of developing cooperation between the academies through the International Association of Academies of Sciences and preparation for the next meeting of the IAAS Council (September 18–20, 2024, Moscow), further steps have been identified to implement the Agreement on Cooperation in the field of science and technology between the NAS of Belarus and the Mongolian AS, signed on June 3 in the presence of the Presidents of the Republic of Belarus and Mongolia. Based on the Agreement with the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, the Belarusian and Mongolian sides will provide comprehensive assistance to cooperation between their organizations in a wide range of priority areas.

Members of the delegation – heads of organizations of the NAS of Belarus took an active part in the work of the Mongolia-Belarus Business Forum, which was held in Ulaanbaatar. Within the framework of the exhibition organized on the sidelines of the forum, products of academic organizations were presented in the field of agriculture, biotechnology, veterinary medicine, mechanization, unmanned aircraft systems, etc.

Following the visit, an agreement was also reached on holding a Belarus-Mongolia forum of young scientists. It is planned that this forum can be held within the framework of the 21st International Scientific Conference Youth in Science 2024 (October 29–31, 2024, Minsk).
