On June 17, 2024, a press conference was held on the World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought at the National Press Center of the Republic of Belarus.

The press conference was attended by: Alexander Anzhenkov, Director of the Institute of Land Reclamation; Yelena Mezentseva, Head of the Laboratory of Fertilizer and Plant Nutrition Systems at the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry and Viktor Melnik, a leading researcher at the Laboratory of Climate Research at the Institute for Environmental Management.

The speakers talked about the latest developments of scientists on this issue. So, during his speech, Alexander Anzhenkov noted the complex hydrological regime of the republic in recent years and the need to manage the water regime through land reclamation.
