On July 17, 2024, the National Press Centre of the Republic of Belarus hosted a press conference on the Development of the Metallurgical Industry in Belarus. Scientific Achievements and the Future of Belarusian Metallurgy, dedicated to the Metallurgist's Day. The First Deputy Director, Deputy Director of Science at the Institute of Powder Metallurgy of the NAS of Belarus Vadim Savich and Director of the Institute of Metal Technology of the NAS of Belarus Anatoly Zhigalov acted as speakers on behalf of the NAS. At the press conference, the scientists talked about research directions in the field of metallurgy and new developments for this industry.

Metallurgist's Day in Belarus is celebrated annually on the third Sunday of July by Edict of the President of the Republic of Belarus No. 157 of March 26, 1998 ‘On State Holidays, Red-Letter Days, and Memorable Dates in the Republic of Belarus’. In 2024, this professional holiday falls on July 21.
