On July 18, 2024, the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus hosted a round table on the Institution of Presidential Power in Strengthening Belarusian Statehood and National Security (on the 30th Anniversary of the Institution of Presidency in the Republic of Belarus). The Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS Vladimir Gusakov made a welcoming speech. Vladimir Grigoryevich stressed that the 30th anniversary of the institution of the presidency in Belarus is a landmark event and a landmark date. "The institution of presidential power has firmly entered the political system of our country, has become an essential part of the Belarusian statehood and national security. We have something to be proud of, and Belarusians have something to say about the achievements of the last thirty years. They are obvious in everything," Vladimir Gusakov said.
During the round table, scientists discussed such problems as: the most important stages of the development of the institution of presidential power in the Republic of Belarus; the institution of presidential power in strengthening the national security of Belarus; the institution of presidential power as an important factor in strengthening and developing the national statehood of Belarus; strengthening and developing of people power in the Republic of Belarus.
The participants of the round table got acquainted with scientific and practical achievements in the field of studying the political history of sovereign Belarus, and also discussed the interaction of academic and university science on topical issues of studying the political history of sovereign Belarus.
The round table also featured an exhibition of scientific and popular science publications dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the institution of the presidency in the Republic of Belarus Academic Humanities. The contribution of scientists to the strengthening of the Belarusian statehood.
The round table was attended by leading scientists, public and political figures, and representatives of the media.
