Delegation of the NAS of Belarus takes part in the 11th International Forum of Technological Development Technoprom 2024

On August 27–30, the delegation of the NAS of Belarus took part in the events of the 11th International Forum of Technological Development Technoprom 2024 (Novosibirsk).

On the eve of the opening of the Technoprom 2024 forum, a working meeting of heads and specialists of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus took place. Issues related to the implementation of the Roadmap of Cooperation between the NAS of Belarus and the SB RAS for 2023–2025, cooperation within the framework of the SKIF MegaScience project were discussed. Academician Valentin Nikolaevich Parmon, Chairman of the SB RAS, stressed the importance of Technoprom as a platform uniting representatives of science – primarily applied – education, and high-tech industry. During the meeting, Academician-Secretary of the Department of Physical and Technical Sciences of the NAS of Belarus Siargiej Shcharbakow expressed the readiness of Belarusian research teams to work within the framework of national projects of the Russian Federation. In this context, Siargiej Shcharbakow informed about the official intention of the NAS of Belarus to participate in the Russian Program for the Development of Synchrotron and Neutron Research through joint experiments at MegaScience-class installations being commissioned: SKIF in the Novosibirsk Naukograd of Koĺtsovo and PIK (ПИК) in Gatchina near St. Petersburg. Academician-Secretary of the Department of Physics, Mathematics and Informatics of the NAS of Belarus Aliaksandr Gienadźjevich Shumilin said that within the framework of the Union State of Russia and Belarus, a Strategy for Scientific and Technological Development was adopted, where the Belarusian side identified the NAS of Belarus as the parent organization, and the Russian side – the Kurchatov Institute. "This is a reputable, large organization," A. Shumilin noted, "but it does not represent the whole of Russian science. The participation of the Russian Academy of Sciences and its structures would be extremely useful." Academician-Secretary of the Department of Chemistry and Earth Sciences of the NAS of Belarus Aliaksej Valiantsinavich Trukhanaw came up with the idea of creating a Russia-Belarus "supranational scientific body" capable of financing and coordinating all joint research. "We have a single economy, a single market, and there should be a single science," A. Trukhanaw believes.

On August 27, within the framework of the 11th International Forum of Technological Development Technoprom 2024, a round table on Partners in Scientific and Technological Development: Experience of Cooperation with BRICS and CIS Countries was held. Aliaksej Trukhanaw, Academician-Secretary of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, reported on the experience of international cooperation in the field of functional materials development.

On the first day of the 11th International Forum of Technological Development Technoprom 2024, the exposition of the NAS of Belarus aroused great interest. Microwave elements, precision photomasks, sensors, alignment boards, a weather unit and samples. An agreement was signed symbolizing the beginning of full-fledged cooperation between the NAS of Belarus and the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. An agreement has been signed between Minsk Research Institute of Radiomaterials (an enterprise of the Department of Physics, Mathematics and Informatics of the NAS of Belarus) and the Institute of Automation and Electrometry of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences for R&D. The delegation members visited the institutes of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Novosibirsk and Irkutsk.

The 11th International Forum of Technological Development Technoprom 2024 was held from August 27 to August 30 in Novosibirsk. This year, the key theme of Technoprom was Science and Technology as the Basis of Socio-Economic and Spatial Development of Russia. During the 4 days of the forum, the best practices of technology transfer to the real sector of the economy were noted, comprehensive state regional Science and Technology programs were presented, and unique scientific developments were presented.
