On October 10–11, 2024, the Scientific and Technical Progress in Housing and Communal Services 6th international scientific and practical conference was held on the basis of the Institute of Housing and Communal Services of the NAS of Belarus. The conference was attended by heads of ministries and departments of the Republic of Belarus, organizations of the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services system, institutes and enterprises of the NAS of Belarus, universities and other interested organizations. The organizers are the NAS of Belarus, the Institute of Housing and Communal Services of the NAS of Belarus and the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Belarus.
The scientific and practical conference considered a set of scientific and scientific-practical tasks relevant in modern conditions in the housing and communal services industry, which is on the threshold of technological and innovative modernization.
The conference was held in the following areas: general issues of the development of housing and communal services as a branch of the national economy (innovative development of water and sewage utilities: new trends and technologies; complex problems of computerisation of processes; methods and systems of operation of modern buildings; landscaping and planting of greenery; economics of housing and communal services; trends in education and training; housing and communal services as part of the social sphere of the state), new waste management methods and technologies (best practices of separate waste collection and recycling, promising areas for the development of RDF fuel production, ecology of the urban communal environment), topical issues of municipal energy (efficient heat power processes, local fuels and renewable energy sources), the role of youth in development branches of housing and communal services (section for young scientists and young specialists).
An exhibition was organized within the framework of the conference, which was attended by institutes of the NAS of Belarus and enterprises whose activities relate to the main areas of housing and communal services. The results of scientific discussions and reports of the conference participants are published in a separate collection.
