On January 23, 2025, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus held a national meeting of the scientific community dedicated to the Day of Belarusian Science. The event was attended by more than 400 representatives of academic, university and industry science, young scientists, heads of ministries and departments, higher educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus.

First Deputy Head of the Administration of the President Natalia Petkevich read out the Greeting of the President of the Republic of Belarus A.Lukashenko and presented awards of the Administration of the President. Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov made a report on the results of the country's scientific sphere.   Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Karankevich read out the Greetings of the Government of the Republic of Belarus and presented awards to representatives of the scientific sphere. The greetings from the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus were read out by Deputy Chairman Sergei Khomenko. Sergei Khomenko presented awards of the Council of the Republic. The following addressed the scientific community with a welcoming speech: Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Andrei Ivanets, Chairman of the Higher Attestation Commission Alexander Guchok, Chairman of the State Committee for Science and Technology Sergei Shlychkov, heads of many ministries and establishments. The best scientists of the country were awarded.

The following were awarded from the NAS of Belarus: laureate of the title "Scientist of the Year of the NAS of Belarus - 2024", Deputy Director for Research and Innovation Work - Head of the Scientific and Production Center "KhimPharmSintez" of the State Scientific Institution "Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the NAS of Belarus", Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member Elena Kalinichenko, as well as teams of authors whose works were included in the TOP - 10 achievements of academic scientists in  fundamental and applied research for 2024.

Space is ours! The national meeting of the scientific community of the country was attended by the cosmonaut of the Republic of Belarus, the Hero of Belarus Marina Vasilevskaya and the pilot-cosmonaut of the Russian Federation, the Hero of the Russian Federation Oleg Novitsky. The staff of the Academy of Sciences was given the flag of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, which was in orbit of the International Space Station. The Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov presented Marina Vasilevskaya and Oleg Novitsky with the badges "For merits to the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus".   

The heads of many leading world scientific centers sent their congratulations to Belarusian scientists.

The ceremonial meeting of the country's scientific community ended with a festive concert.
