On February 12-13, 2025, the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Science. Library. Information" was held, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Central Scientific Library of the NAS of Belarus. It was organized by the NAS of Belarus, the State Scientific Institution "Yakub Kolas Central Scientific Library of the NAS of Belarus", and Belarusian Library Association.

At the grand opening, Chief Scientific Secretary of the NAS of Belarus Vasily Gursky delivered a welcoming speech. He emphasized and conveyed the words of Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov that the 100th anniversary of the CSL of NAS of Belarus is a large-scale event for the entire Belarusian culture and science. Director of the CSL of NAS of Belarus Stanislav Yuretsky gave a report on the activities of the library and its future development prospects. According to him, the library is keeping up with the times. In particular, electronic database packages are available to readers. "The library serves users offline and online, and reading rooms are functioning.  Users have access to electronic document delivery, a virtual reference service, interlibrary loan, and a service for selective delivery of scientific information to the user's personal account," noted the library director. At the plenary session, warm words of greeting were heard from representatives of libraries, archives, educational and scientific institutions of Belarus and foreign guests. During the ceremonial event, the best library employees were awarded. After the plenary session, the conference continued its work in sections at the CSL of NAS of Belarus. The exhibition "Innovations and Achievements of the CSL of NAS of Belarus - History of Serving Belarusian Science" demonstrated publications of the CSL of NAS of Belarus dedicated to the history of the formation and development of the library.  

On February 12, 2025, the Agreement on Cooperation between the Central Scientific Library of the NAS of Belarus and the Library of the Russian Academy of Sciences was signed. The Agreement was signed by: Director of the CSL of NAS of Belarus Stanislav Yuretsky and Olga Skvortsova, Director of the Library of RAS.  

More than 200 scientists and specialists representing the largest libraries and archives, higher education institutions of our country, the Russian Federation and China took part in the International scientific and practical conference "Science. Library. Information" - the National Library of Belarus, the Republican Scientific and Technical Library, "Belarusian Agricultural Library named after I. Lupinovich" of the NAS of Belarus, the Republican Scientific Medical Library, Belarusian State University, Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts, Russian State Library, the Library of Russian Academy of Sciences, the State Public Historical Library of Russia, the State Public Scientific and Technical Library of Russia, the Archives of  Russian Academy of Sciences, the Scientific and Technological Library of Guangdong Province and many others.

The forum participants discussed such issues as: the formation and development of scientific libraries, the directions of their scientific and research work; library and scientific communication; information and analytical support for science, education, culture, industrial and social spheres; the problem of developing reading competence and reading practices of the population; library and open science; handwritten materials, rare books and book collections in library funds; museum exhibitions in libraries; interaction between the library and higher education. The work of 5 sections of the forum was held on February 12 and 13, 2025, at the Central Scientific Library of the NAS of Belarus.

The conference included the following events: February 12, 2025 – Belarusian-Russian Workshop on the Development of International Library and Information Cooperation. February 13, 2025 – Master Class by Olga Ushakova, Deputy Director General for Library Work at the State Public Scientific and Technical Library of Russia (Moscow), “Tools for Personalizing Library and Information Services in the Digital Environment for Information and Analytical Support of Readers of Scientific and Technical Libraries”.

The conference materials will be compiled into a collection that will be published and also placed in the national information and analytical system “Russian Science Citation Index”.
