The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus announces the 2025 competition for the prizes of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
The Academy of Sciences of Belarus has established eight prizes for the best scientific work in the following areas:
in physical and mathematical sciences (one prize);
in information technology (one prize);
in physical, technical and engineering sciences (one prize);
in chemical sciences and earth sciences (one prize);
in biological sciences (one prize);
in medical sciences (one prize);
in humanities and social sciences (one prize);
in agricultural sciences (one prize).
Applicants for the NAS of Belarus prizes may be citizens of the Republic of Belarus – individual scientists or teams of scientists (no more than three people) who have published research results in monographs, series of articles in leading scientific journals, and have carried out developments, the practical implementation of which together reflects the solution of a significant scientific and/or practical problem.
The work nominated for the NAS of Belarus prize must have been completed and its results published within the last five years. In special cases, it is allowed to include in the cycle earlier, more important, thematically related publications and other research results. Abstracts and manuscripts of dissertations are not included in the materials for the competition.
The right to nominate works for the NAS of Belarus prizes is granted to academicians and corresponding members of the NAS of Belarus (in their specialty), scientists and scientific and technical councils of the organizations of the Academy of Sciences. The work may be put forward by scientists or scientific and technical councils of other organizations of the Republic of Belarus, including institutions of higher education or their faculties, jointly with a scientist or scientific and technical council of an organization of the NAS of Belarus.
Organizations and individuals who have nominated candidates for the prizes must submit the following set of materials:
in the case of the work being nominated by an organization – an extract from the meeting of the scientific (scientific and technical) council of the organization on the nomination of the work (cycle of works) with a justification of the significance of the results of the nominated work for science and practice. When a work is nominated by an organization of the NAS of Belarus jointly with a scientific organization of another departmental subordination or an institution of higher education, extracts from meetings of scientific (scientific and technical) councils of both organizations are submitted;
in the case of a work being nominated by a member of the NAS of Belarus – a recommendation from an academician or corresponding member with a justification of the significance of the results of the proposed work for science and practice;
work nominated for the award: thematically related monographs, other book publications, copies of articles, patents, materials confirming the practical development of the results of the work, together reflecting the solution of a significant scientific and/or practical problem;
a summary of the work of about three pages of standard typewritten text, signed by the authors, including the following information: title of the work; full name, academic degree, rank, position and place of work of each member of the authors' team; statement of the problem and its relevance, solutions, results obtained;
a brief summary of the work in Belarusian, no more than one page in length, indicating the title of the work, full names, academic degrees, titles and place of work of the members of the authors' team (for works written in Russian);
a brief statement of the research results (no more than 450 characters);
a certified list of publications included in the work and lists of works published by each author;
a certificate of the personal contribution of each member of the author's team, signed by all co-authors of the work (cycle of works);
information about the author/authors (name; date, month and year of birth; place of birth; education (which institution of higher education graduated from and when), specialty in education; academic degree and academic title; position held indicating place of work and year of taking up the position; awards (indicating the date of the award); past work; main areas of scientific activity; total number of publications; supervision of postgraduate students and applicants; home and work addresses, contact phone numbers.
Materials with the inscription "For the 2025 NAS of Belarus Prize" in one copy are submitted before October 1, 2025 to the Prizes, Scholarships and Awards Department of the Main Directorate of Personnel and Personnel Policy of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus at: 220072, Minsk, Nezavisimosti Ave., 66, office 317, 406.
