National Academy of Sciences of Belarus

13.10.2025

Congratulations on the Day of the NAS of Belarus from the Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Vladimir Karanik

Dear colleagues, dear friends!

On behalf of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and myself personally, I sincerely congratulate you on our common holiday – NAS Day of Belarus.

The history of the Academy is inextricably linked with the history of the first academic-type scientific organization in the country—the Institute of Belarusian Culture (Inbelkult). It was on this day, October 13, 1928, that by decision of the Central Executive Committee and the Council of People's Commissars of the BSSR, Inbelkult was reorganized into Belarusian Academy of Sciences.

On this holiday, as we remember the past of Belarusian science, we look confidently to the future. It is on this day that the traditional showcase of artificial intelligence innovations begins within the IT-Akademgrad Forum "Artificial Intelligence in Belarus" and a large-scale exhibition dedicated to the development of AI technologies.

Today, the National Academy of Sciences is a research and production corporation uniting the country's best scientific forces. The state sets us goals in developing fundamental foundations for the development of the economy, industry, agriculture, healthcare, and ensuring the country's humanitarian security. The experience and knowledge of academic scientists are in demand in society, and our expert opinions are taken into account when making important government decisions. Being an academic scientist is not only an honor but also a responsibility. Working for the benefit of science, we must improve our knowledge and competencies and keep up with the times.

The NAS of Belarus strives to foster the continuity of generations of scientists and the fusion of youth and experience. This was vividly demonstrated by the "100 Innovations of Young Scientists" exhibition and competition, the winners and participants of which were recently awarded diplomas from the NAS of Belarus.

Dear friends!

I express my gratitude for your productive work, dedicated service to the Motherland, and your initiative and determination in solving important state problems! I wish you good health, new creative successes, and new discoveries.

Vladimir KARANIK,
Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus
