Winners of the "Top 10" competition for the achievements of scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in fundamental and applied research in 2025

Based on the results of the competition for 2025, the Bureau of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus decided to approve the list of winners of the “Top 10” competition for the results of the activities of scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in fundamental and applied research 2025.

The winners of the “Top 10” competition for 2025 are:

1. Gaponenko Sergei, Director of the State Scientific Institution "B. Stepanov Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus", Academician, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, Novitsky Denis, Head of the Center “Nanophotonics” of the State Scientific Institution “B. Stepanov Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus”, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor, Usachenok Maxim, Deputy Head of the Center “Plasma Physics” of the State Scientific Institution “B. Stepanov Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus”, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Simonchik Leonid, Chief Researcher of the State Scientific Institution "B. Stepanov Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus", Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, – for the development of a theory of the propagation of electromagnetic pulses through a plasma layer of finite thickness under tunneling conditions, which made it possible to predict the existence of an asymptotic tunneling time in the limit of low transparency that is independent of the layer thickness and radiation frequency, which is important for the creation and penetration of plasma protective screens.

Vasily Kovalev, leading researcher at the state scientific institution “United Institute of Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus”, candidate of technical sciences, associate professor, Snezhko Eduard, head of the laboratory of the state scientific institution "United Institute of Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus", candidate of technical sciences, Karpenko Dmitry, junior research fellow at the state scientific institution "United Institute of Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus", – for the development of a new method of federated learning and technology for creating generative AI models, which made it possible to increase the efficiency of secure training of neural networks under conditions of prohibition of the exchange of confidential medical data (using X-ray, computed tomography, and histological images as an example).

Ilyushchenko Alexander, General Director of the State Scientific and Production Association of Powder Metallurgy - Director of the State Scientific Institution "Institute of Powder Metallurgy named after Academician O. Roman", Academician, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Osipov Vladimir, Head of the Laboratory of the State Scientific Institution "Institute of Powder Metallurgy named after Academician O.V. Roman", Dyachkova Larisa, Chief Researcher of the State Scientific Institution "Institute of Powder Metallurgy named after Academician O.V. Roman", Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Maisyuk Alexander, leading technologist of the State Scientific Institution "Institute of Powder Metallurgy named after Academician O.V. Roman", – for the development of a technology for the formation of diffusion-bonded composite two-layer materials of tungsten carbide - alloyed compact steel for long, highly wear-resistant products for instrumental and structural purposes.

Nazarova Ksenia, Deputy Director for Research of the Republican Production Unitary Enterprise "AKADEMFARM", Candidate of Biological Sciences, Gudovich Vladislav, Head of Department of the Republican Production Unitary Enterprise "AKADEMFARM", Korsak Anna, head of the laboratory of the Republican Production Unitary Enterprise "AKADEMFARM", Nasennikova Ekaterina, head of the laboratory of the Republican Production Unitary Enterprise "AKADEMFARM", Klimashevich Victoria, leading technologist of the Republican Production Unitary Enterprise "AKADEMFARM", Sugakova Anna, leading engineer-technologist of the Republican Production Unitary Enterprise "AKADEMFARM", – for the development and implementation of the import-substituting generic drug "Gabapentin-NAN".

5. Bildyukevich Alexander, Director of the State Scientific Institution "Institute of Physical-Organic Chemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus", Academician, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor, Plisko Tatyana, head of the laboratory of the State Scientific Institution "Institute of Physical-Organic Chemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus", Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor, Burt Ekaterina, senior researcher of the State Scientific Institution "Institute of Physical-Organic Chemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus", Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor, – for the development of new effective methods for creating multilayer composite membranes for nanofiltration of harmful dyes and antibiotics from water and the extraction of lithium salts from natural brines.

6. Zinchenko Anatoly, head of the industry laboratory of the state scientific institution "Institute of Microbiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus", corresponding member, doctor of biological sciences, professor, Larisa Birichevskaya, leading researcher at the State Scientific Institution “Institute of Microbiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus”, candidate of biological sciences, associate professor, Anastasia Shchekolova, Senior Researcher at the State Scientific Institution "Institute of Microbiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus", Candidate of Biological Sciences, Anna Daineko, Junior Researcher at the State Scientific Institution "Institute of Microbiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus", Master of Biological Sciences, – for the development of a highly efficient biotechnology for producing the antitumor nucleoside 6-thio-2'-deoxyguanosine and its phospholipid derivatives with prodrug properties.

7. Marina Sinyavskaya, Head of the Laboratory of the State Scientific Institution "Institute of Genetics and Cytology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus", Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor, Aleksandrovich Valeria, Junior Researcher at the State Scientific Institution "Institute of Genetics and Cytology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus", – for the development and implementation of a highly effective DNA technology for the early diagnosis of drug-resistant epilepsy in children.

8. Tapalsky Dmitry, Director of the State Scientific Institution "Institute of Physiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus", Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Karpova Elena, Head of the Center for Medical Microbiology and Antibiotic Resistance of the State Scientific Institution "Institute of Physiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus", Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor, – for the development of a new comprehensive approach to overcoming antibiotic resistance in gram-negative pathogens by identifying the mechanisms of its formation, creating tools and effective combinations of antibiotics to optimize antimicrobial therapy.

9. Stanislav Yuretsky, Director of the State Institution "Yakub Kolas Central Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus", Candidate of Historical Sciences, Olga Gubanova, researcher at the State Institution "Yakub Kolas Central Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus", Nadezhda Sluka, researcher at the State Institution "Yakub Kolas Central Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus", – for the development and introduction into scientific circulation of methods of field and cameral archaeography of unique handwritten and early printed book monuments of Belarus from the 15th to early 20th centuries.

Zhilich Evgeny, head of the laboratory of the Republican Unitary Enterprise “Scientific and Practical Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus for Agricultural Mechanization”, Yulia Rogalskaya, researcher at the Republican Unitary Enterprise "Scientific and Practical Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus for Agricultural Mechanization", – for the development of a device for remotely determining body measurements and live weight of cattle in automatic mode.
