The NAS of Belarus discussed the development of cooperation between science and environmental organizations of the Presidential Property Management Department

An expanded meeting of the Coordinating Council for Scientific Activities of the Presidential Property Management Department of the Republic of Belarus was held at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. The meeting discussed developing collaboration between science and environmental organizations within the Presidential Property Management Department. The goal of the meeting was to identify specific areas of common ground and build an effective partnership model.

In his opening remarks, Vladimir Karanik, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, emphasized that environmental safety and sustainable nature management are among the key priorities of our country's state policy. "Under these conditions, issues of preserving and effectively using biological diversity and natural resources, improving the quality of scientific research in national parks and reserves, and the role of the expert scientific community and government bodies are becoming especially critical and interconnected," he said.

The head of the Academy of Sciences also noted that the institutes of the NAS of Belarus have accumulated extensive experience in providing scientific support for issues of biota conservation, environmental monitoring, developing resource-saving technologies, rehabilitating degraded areas, and adapting ecosystems to climate change. "We are actively participating in the implementation of a number of state program objectives aimed at improving the quality of environmental protection activities and the rational use of natural resources," said Vladimir Karanik.

In turn, Yuri Nazarov, Head of the Presidential Property Management Department of the Republic of Belarus, noted the role and importance of the National Academy of Sciences in addressing the challenges of preserving natural heritage. "We are interested in scientific work, committed to fruitful cooperation with the Academy of Sciences, and ready to promptly coordinate all approaches to organizing this work for the benefit of specially protected natural areas, for which we are accountable to the state and the President," he said.
