The Academy of Sciences and Belneftekhim discussed prospects for cooperation in the petrochemical sector
Today, the Academy of Sciences hosted a working meeting between Alexei Trukhanov, Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus, and Andrei Boyarin, Deputy Chairman of the concern “Belneftekhim”, to discuss bilateral cooperation and collaboration in the petrochemical sector.
During the meeting, the parties discussed specific areas of cooperation and a draft schedule for implementing joint initiatives over the current five-year period. Particular attention was paid to strengthening partnerships between academic research institutions and high-tech enterprises in the country's petrochemical industry.
"The Academy of Sciences possesses powerful scientific and human resources potential and the necessary competencies. We are ready to offer the concern our cutting-edge developments in new materials, raw material processing technologies, and environmental safety of production," emphasized Alexey Trukhanov. He also noted that to increase the competitiveness of Belarusian petrochemical products on the global market, closer interaction and synergy between the efforts of academic science and the petrochemical industry are necessary.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the NAS of Belarus and the concern “Belneftekhim”, as well as the Institute of Physical-Organic Chemistry, the Institute of Chemistry of New Materials, the Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry, the Institute of Power Engineering, the Joint Institute for Informatics Problems, the Physicotechnical Institute, OJSC “Grodno Azot” and OJSC “Lakokraska”.
