Vladimir Karanik: Oncologists' achievements and successes mean tens of thousands of lives saved

The achievements and successes of oncologists translate into tens of thousands of lives saved. This was announced today at the opening of the 15th Congress of Oncologists and Radiologists of the CIS and Eurasia, held in Minsk, by Vladimir Karanik, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. He noted that domestic science and medicine are successfully developing and implementing cutting-edge methods to combat cancer, demonstrating a high level of expertise and knowledge.

"Over the past few years, we have gained confidence that oncology is capable of dynamically developing, improving, and adequately responding to the challenges of the times, introducing new medications and methods into clinical practice that allow more and more patients to return to a full life," said the head of the Academy of Sciences.

Vladimir Karanik also noted that the successes and achievements of the oncology service are clear evidence of the high level of Belarusian science and medicine. He emphasized that this was made possible thanks to the Head of State's special and close attention to healthcare, and oncology in particular.

The Congress of Oncologists and Radiologists of the CIS and Eurasia is taking place from April 22 to 24 at the International Exhibition Center in Minsk. It is organized in a hybrid format. During the congress, speakers and guests will be able to attend a specialized medical exhibition.
