Congratulations from Vladimir Karanik, Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus, on Victory Day
Dear veterans, dear colleagues!
On behalf of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and myself, I congratulate you on this sacred holiday for all Belarusians – Victory Day!
For each of us, May 9th symbolizes the unparalleled courage, unwavering will, and spiritual unity of the Belarusian people. We bow our heads to the generation of victors who demonstrated fortitude and self-sacrifice in the struggle for the freedom of our homeland. The heroic deeds of the Belarusian people who persevered during the Great Patriotic War will forever remain the foundation of our statehood.
This holiday has special significance for the academic community: many scientists from the Academy of Sciences fought heroically on the front lines, participated in the partisan movement, and selflessly worked in the rear. In the post-war decades, their abilities, intellect, and creative energy enabled the republic to rise from its ashes, transforming it into a modern scientific and industrial center.
Our shared goal is to live up to this great legacy. Amid today's challenges, the development of national science is becoming a key factor in strengthening Belarus's national security and prosperity. The work of every researcher contributes to preserving the peace and stability for which our fathers and grandfathers fought.
We extend special words of gratitude to our veterans. Your lives exemplify true patriotism and devotion to the Fatherland. I wish you good health, inexhaustible energy, a peaceful sky above your heads, and prosperity for your families. May the memory of this great feat live in our hearts and inspire us to creative work for the benefit of our beloved Belarus!
Happy holiday! Happy Great Victory Day!
Vladimir KARANIK,
Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus
