On the eve of the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, representatives of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, led by Vladimir Karanik, Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS, laid flowers at the Obelisk at the 9th kilometer of Moscow Highway in Uruchye and honored the memory of fallen soldiers and civilians.

The solemn ceremony, permeated with an atmosphere of sorrow and pride, also gathered at the foot of the monument representatives of the Military Academy of the Republic of Belarus, who arrived in advance to participate in this event of great significance to all.

Vladimir Karanik, Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS, emphasized that May 9 is one of the most important holidays in our country, one that holds enduring value for people of all generations. "This is a holiday that means a great deal to us all. The Great Patriotic War brought grief and suffering to literally every family and every home—we suffered enormous human losses. This pain continues to this day, reminding us all of the high price of peace," he said.

Following the flower-laying ceremony, representatives of the Academy of Sciences took a tour of the Military Academy, where they learned about the life, facilities, and modern training of cadets. During the tour, Vladimir Karanik discussed prospects for scientific and technical cooperation within the framework of scientific and technical programs with the management and faculty.
