Vitaly Zalessky met with a delegation from Harbin Institute of Technology of China
First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vitaly Zalessky held a working meeting today with a delegation from Harbin Institute of Technology of China, led by Vice-Rector Liu Ting.
The focus is on strengthening and developing scientific and technical cooperation between Belarus and China.
Vitaly Zalessky noted the need to intensify joint work on major scientific projects. He proposed creating conditions for closer collaboration between scientists, encouraging joint research and publications, and developing projects that could receive further support.
Particular attention was paid to the idea of creating a joint laboratory within the framework of the "One Belt, One Road" initiative and joint work on preparing new applications for Belarusian-Chinese project competition.
During the meeting, an agreement was signed between the Institute of Economics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Institute of Economics and Management of Harbin Institute of Technology of China to establish an Analytical Competence Center for Global Governance and Innovative Development of SCO Member States. The document was signed by the heads of the organizations, Denis Mukha and Zhang Xu.
The new center will conduct joint research in key areas such as digital economic transformation, sustainable development and the green economy, demographic security, innovative technologies, as well as cross-border infrastructure and logistics.
The agreement also provides for the development of legal and institutional models of multilateral cooperation aimed at improving the effectiveness of regional governance and ensuring sustainable social and economic growth.
