Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vladimir Karanik held a working meeting with the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ibrokhim Abdurakhmanov
The focus is on key areas of bilateral cooperation and prospects for implementing joint scientific projects.
Vladimir Karanik noted that cooperation between the countries has reached a high level in applied and humanities research.
Particular attention is paid to priority areas such as physics, mathematics, materials science, and artificial intelligence.
"We are united not only by scientific interests but also by shared approaches to preserving historical memory. Today, more than 60 projects are being successfully implemented through joint competitions, but the potential for expanding our partnership remains significant," noted the head of the Academy of Sciences.
Vladimir Karanik also added that the National Academy of Sciences actively accepts young scientists and postgraduate students from Uzbekistan for internships, which facilitates the exchange of experience and knowledge.
In turn, Ibrohim Abdurakhmanov reported on an important stage in the development of Uzbek science – the revival of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
He emphasized that the state places particular emphasis on innovation and expressed readiness to directly finance joint Belarusian-Uzbek developments.
"We have 21 research institutes and 10 specialized universities. We are interested in integrating with our Belarusian colleagues, sharing experiences, and training our specialists," said Ibrokhim Abdurakhmanov.
The meeting resulted in an agreement to develop a program of bilateral cooperation through joint master's and postgraduate programs.
