The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus announces a competition to select the "Top 10" research achievements of scientists from the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in fundamental and applied research 2026
The competition accepts results of scientific activity – obtained for the first time or completed in 2026 – by scientists and research teams working in fundamental and applied research, in the form of publications and innovative developments, provided they meet the following criteria: the result has been published in a journal with a high impact factor; the publication is included in international databases; the fundamentally new scientific information obtained has been published for the first time as a book (a chapter in a monograph), is of significant importance for the advancement of domestic and global science, and will have a substantial impact on the country's economic development and the resolution of social, environmental, and other issues; based on research results, new technical facility (method, technological process) has been developed that meets world-class standards in terms of the majority of technical parameters. The right to nominate candidates for participation in the "Top 10" competition is granted to scientific organizations of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and to full members (academicians) of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. An organization (or academician) may nominate multiple author teams (or individual authors) for participation in the "Top 10" competition. Organizations (academies) nominating candidates for the competition shall submit the following set of documents: a letter nominating candidates, addressed to the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and signed by the head of the organization or an Academician, containing a brief, reasoned presentation of the nominees and a description of their scientific achievements; a brief statement of the result (no more than 400 characters); in the case of a nomination based on a series of research papers, additionally specify the list of papers included in the series; a list of all scientific publications by the nominees related to the achieved result, indicating the impact factors of the journals in which the results were published; copies of the nominees' scientific papers published in 2026 on the subject of the obtained result; copies of documents confirming the importance of the development for the social and economic development of the Republic of Belarus (patents, author's certificates, records of the implementation of research results in practical activities and/or the educational process), if any; a summary dossier on each of the nominees; a consolidated application (the application form is available here) in a file format compatible with MS Word, along with a hard copy signed by the head of the organization or an academician. The set of documents, marked "For the 'Top 10' competition for the research achievements of National Academy of Sciences of Belarus scientists in 2026," must be submitted to the relevant division of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus no later than November 30, 2026.
