Meeting on free electron lasers with a member of Nobel Committee for Physics, Rector of Stockholm University Mats Larsson takes place at NAS of Belarus

On May 16, 2016 the international meeting on free electron lasers started its work at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. The official organizers of the event, which will take place on 16 and 17 May 2016, are the NAS of Belarus and Stockholm University. The event brings together leading experts in the field from England, Germany, Sweden, Japan, Italy, Belarus, and Ukraine.

Before the meeting, the world-famous Swedish scientist, member of the Nobel Committee for Physics, Rector of Stockholm University, Mats Larsson, speaking on the subject of the meeting, noted that "this area of science in the world is only growing. The participation of Belarusian scientists at the present time is fundamental and theoretical, since such kind of installations exists only in the United States and Japan. But if we evaluate the contribution of Belarusian scientists in the development of laser physics, it is very high. This is well illustrated by the activities of the B.I. Stepanov Institute of Physics”.
